WhatsApp soon to introduce 5 new features in web & app

WhatsApp is one of the most popularly used social media apps worldwide. Meta’s proprietary instant messaging app is constantly updated with new features and improvements to enhance your user experience. As reported by WaBetaInfo, WhatsApp is currently working on various new features, bringing a list of features coming soon to the WhatsApp web and mobile apps.

WhatsApp considers India the world’s largest market, with over 400 million users. Earlier this year, Meta’s messaging service also received approval to expand its UPI-based payment service to its 100 million users in the country after a series of delays and setbacks.

1. Users can Chat with themselves

WhatsApp users can now send themselves messages. However, with this new feature, the instant messaging app allows you to chat with yourself by highlighting the “Message Yourself” option. In addition, WaBetaInfo reports that an option to chat with your phone number will be available in his WhatsApp contact list, making it easier for users to chat with themselves.

2. People can view Profile pictures in the Group Chat

Another WhatsApp feature in development is the ability to set profile pictures for individual contacts in group chats. When you receive a message in a group, you’ll see the group member’s profile picture. A default profile icon will appear in chat if a group member doesn’t enable a profile picture or is unavailable due to privacy settings.

4. Introducing Image blur option

The image Blur feature is currently available to some desktop beta testers. This feature allows WhatsApp users to censor sensitive information from images cleanly. According to reports, WhatsApp has developed two blur tools that will enable users to edit images with different blur effects. Users can also select the blur size and apply the effect delicately.

5. Users can enabled auto-download option

WhatsApp allows Windows and macOS desktop users to manage settings for automatically downloading photos, videos, and documents. This feature is available to desktop beta users only.
